Beginnings (of sorts)

March 1st.

Just a normal day as far as the calendar goes, but it seems like so much more personally. Today my wife and I moved into our first house. We did not buy it (still renting!), but it is the first place we have been that feels like home. There are boxes all around my desk, but it is already wonderful.

peace. rest. family.

Life has been so hectic the last few months (really since November holidays, and has seriously not let up). It is easy to feel tired and burt out on life, but today is different. There is a sliver of light shining through the windows this evening as I type this post. There is a warmth I felt outside today that was a whisper of warm weather and new growth. Winter is ending; something new is coming.

I don’t know what this house has in store for our little family, but I am ready to be a part of the journey and receive with open hands the opportunities we are given.

Here’s to a fresh start. Who says you can’t start over in the third month of the year?
